Job Description – Project Coordinator (for environmental campaigns) – located in Bucharest
(40h/week, permanent contract)
Planning of Campaigns:
- Doing research / investigation to get basics for the development of environmental campaigns
- Set Campaign goals, strategy and tactics
- Creating Campaign plans and proposals
Implementation of Campaigns:
- Project management
- Lobbying (high level contacts in politics in and outside Romania and with Romanian representatives in Brussels/Strassbourg, in authorities, economy and in the NGO scene)
- Non-violent direct action/demonstration planning
- Press work
- Writing of publications (press releases, factsheets, leaflets, reports,…) , direct communication with journalists and any other media-related task (e.g. media database, media monitoring)
- Implementation of any other campaign related work (incl. web)
- Provide leadership to the involved people (staff & volunteers)
- Close co-operation with the Greenpeace EU Unit in Brussels & with Greenpeace International
- Involvement of activists/volunteer s in the campaigns
Requirements:
- Romanian language: native-speaker level
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Commitment to work for the environment; knowledge about environmental issues
- Identification with Greenpeace principles (including actions)
- Project coordination/ management and / or leadership skills
- Knowledge about the political and economic system in Romania and EU
- Team player
- Good communication skills, including interest to speak in front of media
- Conflict management skills
- High degree, university level preferred
- NGO or non-profit experience is a plus
